I've been hiding a secret, Bloguniverse, for the last year.
This last year, we were a family separated. Hubby in January had left for Baghdad, Iraq. I, again, faced my days alone, and now with three kids, and of course my bean in my belly. And in my feelings of vulnerability, (and what the Army suggests as part of general operational security - I, for example, don't hang a blue star or tie a yellow ribbon around our tree to suggest we are alone), I decided to withhold this information.
I suppose this is why my crafting had nearly almost disappeared this last year! Really, not by choice, but by my need to go within myself to stay sane, and to take care of myself first and foremost. Gone where the long nights of sewing, knowing that I am the only one to deal with the challenges of the next day.
But this year....this long year is now over...
We were blessed with a pre-Christmas reunion, and we met him in a a dark field along with dozens dozens crying and thanking God that we all made it through our separation.
Thank you for hanging in with me this last year!! Here's to a wonderful Christmas, a Happy New Year, and the return of everything close, normal, and crafty for all of our families.
