And she is now in fact, back to being first around here. Now that the house feels so much larger with the Christmas decor completely tucked away, she has taken over the formal dining room table once again. I had to give her some love and cleaned her and talked to her, but I think she's starting to feel comfy.
I warmed her up a bit by finishing up a doll quilt for my goddaughter's American Girl Doll.
The quilt is in fact straight but somehow it hung quite wonky.
I did a raw edge applique of three of my favorite purple based fabrics right now, to match the polka dot sheets the my goddaughter uses for herself. This quilt is going with the AG sweater I knit for her.
...A closer look at the quick hand stitches I did around the appliques. I originally wanted to quilt this with straight lines, but decided against it since my goddaughter is such a gentle soul, and I thought it instead needed a delicate touch.
I am so glad to say that I am one project away from being complete with Handmade Holidays 2010. And I'm so close to finishing that project, that I dare say that this may be the earliest I have ever completed holiday presents.
Happy Hump Day!
