Hi, I'm Tif!
I'm your crafty-Filipina American-girl-next-door. The one who talks incessantly and is excited about most everything. I'm the one who screams hello from across the street, quite embarrassingly sometimes. I'm the one who is totally engrossed when she is walking her dog. I am also the one who is running in and out of the van several times a day, with four children in tow.
I am a self taught sewing and knitting mama, and I like to say I scrapbook, but have years of un-scrapped photos to disprove this :) . I love pretty fabric and drool over fast quiet sewing machines. I like to pet yarn whenever I come across it. I love to take pictures. I still read books in dim light. I dream of too many things, in hopes that I accomplish even half of it.
I started blogging in 2004, first on Xanga, then Blogger, and now finally on Typepad. I have been a writer all of my life, from my diaries to short stories. I have done some freelance writing, and am working on my first novel.
Blogging is my first love. Aside from the phenomenal friendships I have made with other crafters, military spouses, and mommy bloggers, I look forward to sharing all I have written over the last few years to my children, who hopefully will get to know their mother as more than just the one who reminds them to brush their teeth, or the one who gives them their last kisses before they go to bed.
I was an Army Nurse, and am now a proud Army Spouse, and sometimes a civilian nurse, when needed. From 2004-2008, I designed and created handbags and accessories under the label of Dara & Scott (R). These days I write and dream, photograph and craft for fun. This last decade has taught me that defining myself only restricts my own growth. I only know that I have a great Faith in God and my family, and that expression through craft and writing relieves me of all the ills I may have in my surroundings.
